Minehead RFC U13s 36

Tavistock RFC U13s 24

THE end of season tour game was against Minehead again this year. Tavistock spent the first 15 minutes defending resolutely before Minehead crossed their line . Further pressure saw Minehead score two more tries in the first half.

As half time approached, Tavistock found their second wind and scored two tries in quick succession through Sam Morton and William Brown, turning round at 17-10.

The second half was much better but Minehead ran in a further three tries, two of which should have been prevented by stronger tackling. Again, Tavistock grew stronger as the half progressed with Rory Dyer dragging half the defence over for his try.

The last try was the best: after a superb break out of defence by Anthony De La Cour who beat several men before being caught in the opponents' 22-metre area.

William Brown hacked on, found Joe Saunders on his shoulder and popped the ball to him. Saunders beat two defenders before touching down under the posts. Nick Lane converted both second half tries.

With the home side visibly tiring, 10 more minutes might just have seen them win but the quality of rugby was a good way to end the season for both sides.
