IN what proved to be a difficult but well fought game Okehampton Argyle came up against a side that controlled the ball of play for most of the match. Okehampton?s substitute goalkeeper, Thomas Jeenes, made several good saves to keep the score 2-0 at half-time to give Okehampton a chance in the second half. Okehampton had two good spells of play in the first half with Luke Alden taking a free kick which sailed inches over the crossbar.
Matthew crossed the first corner of the match which came off a Barnstaple player and allowed Matthew Doidge to head back the ball into the penalty box at which point the referee blew his whistle for the end of the first half. The second half was played in a similar way with Luke Alden striving to create the break Okehampton needed. Barnstaple Youth scored their third goal of the match neatly slotting the ball past the Okehampton keeper.
Man of the match Jack Cornwall/Luke Alden. Next match away on Sunday at Ilfracombe.
