A SUCCESSFUL competition was had by members of the Lamerton Hunt Branch of the Pony Club at the Tiverton 2 Day event at Chevithorne Barton on Saturday and Sunday.

This event is organised by the Tiverton Branch of the Pony Club, and, as well as the dressage, showjumping and cross country elements, includes a timed steeplechase and roads and tracks section.

Lamerton members Tom Preece riding Bloomells Magnus and Rosie Pearson riding Quintin finished 5th and 6th respectively in the 15years and under, Class 1 Section B.

They were competing over the 2? 9? course. In Class 4, 15 years and under, Tom Preece riding his second horse, Squires Angel, finished 2nd and Lizzie Luxton, riding Magnum, won the rosette for Best Dressage in her section.

This class was being ridden over the 3ft 6ins course.

In Class 5, 16 years and over, Jennie Humphry, riding Regina Lyng, finished first, winning the Emmett Challenge Cup, with clear rounds and no time penalties in both the show jumping and the cross country element of the competition.

No other rider managed double clears in this section.

Nathan Pearson, riding Beeches Lad, finished 4th, also winning the rosette for the Best Dressage in his section. This class was also being run over the 3ft 6ins course.

Lamerton Pony Club also won the 3ft 6ins team competition.

At the beginning of the week Jennie had been representing Lamerton Pony Club at the Pony Club Championships at Sansaw Park, Shropshire in the show jumping section.

Jennie jumped a good clear round in the first part of the competition but then, unfortunately, knocked two poles down in the second round which meant she finished just outside the rosettes.
