MEMBERS of Firewatch South West were getting used to shouts of ?Fore!? instead of ?Fire!? last month as they sponsored a charity golf day in aid of CHICKS.

The fire extinguisher company were the main sponsors of the event held at Trethorne Golf Club, near Launceston, which also attracted a good deal of support from other local businesses.

A total of 54 pairs of players competed in the competition, the winners being Mr Honey and Mr Worth, from Launceston.

Tracy Izod, senior fundraiser for CHICKS, said: ?I was turning away players for two weeks prior to the event as it was fully booked from April.

?This year?s competition was the best yet ? the charity made a clear profit of £2,200!?

The charity CHICKS provides country holidays for children from the inner cities.
