The festival, which continued through to Wednesday, included special services in the church throughout the weekend, the blessing of the plough, a 'Frost Fair' — where numerous charities and local organisations sold their wares to raise funds — and a Coronation Music Concert.
Parish office administrator Lucy Shields said the festival had been a great success with all the events very well attended.
'The church, which was dressed in evergreens and candles with a gold theme in decoration for the Queen, looked completely stunning,' she said.
Chagford stole a march on the rest of the country by commemorating the actual anniversary of the Queen's Accession — February 6.
Tonight (Thursday) there will be a public meeting to discuss events to be held for the official Golden Jubilee public holiday on June 3/4. The meeting will be held in Endacott House at 8pm.
Chagford received letters from both the Queen and Prince Charles sending their best wishes for the festival.
Mrs Shields said the event had got everyone in the spirit for the Golden Jubilee year.
'Chagford always comes up trumps with this sort of thing and the Queen was very pleased to read in my letter to her that the town is a Royalist stronghold.'
