Duchy Premier
Altarnun 3
Gunnislake 6
IN their four fixtures this season Gunnislake have now lost and won in matches with 6-3 scorelines as well as winning 7-3 and 4-2. The three wins sees them sitting second in the division.
Strikers Darren Benfield and Jarryd Kelly each scored in the opening 45 minutes, both times to bring the scores level, but Altarnun found the net three times to hold a slender lead at the interval. It could easily have been level as Kelly had an effort that struck the post.
Gunnislake were the stronger side in the second period and levelled early on through Kelly, who also struck a 20 yarder against the upright, and soon after Benfield put his team in front for the first time.
Altarnun were denied an equaliser when Gunnislake keeper Jay Richmond made a fingertip save and that proved crucial as the visitors went on to score two excellent goals. The first of these was a solo effort from Tom Hall who evaded a couple of challenges before drawing the keeper and slotting home. The sixth goal started with Ant Underwood before Kelly played a good pass to his brother Stef and the latter finished well.
l On Saturday Gunnislake host Lamerton for a league fixture, kick off at 2.30pm.

GUNNISLAKE were far from flattered by the final scoreline as they were much the better team. They missed a penalty and hit the woodwork on several occasions, Paul Tomkies being the main unlucky man, but thanks to goals from Aaron Dawson and Jarryd Kelly did claim their first win of the season.
