Penzance B 0 Tavistock A 9 TAVISTOCK Men?s Hockey A side maintained their 100% record this season with a comfortable victory at Penzance. Having won all 17 league games, Tavistock need just one point from the remaining five matches to clinch the league title. This was not one of Tavistock?s better performances, but they still led 5-0 at half-time. An improved second half gave a final score of 9-0 and took this season?s goal tally to 98. On the scoresheet in Penzance were Nick Andrews (four), Neil Kelly (two) and Roger Costello, Jason Read and Nick Bradley with one piece. This Saturday, Tavistock A v OPM A, 4.30pm Kelly College. Tavistock B 2 Marjons 7 WITH the home side missing some key members due to other commitments, this would prove costly to Tavistock . Cooley had to play many of his team out of their normal positions, this was evident as it did not take long for Marjons to take the lead with a soft goal. The visitors dominated the first half of the match and the only highlight for Tavistock was a well taken shot by Young from a short corner pushed out by Mackintosh. Vice captain T Wood reorganised the team into a more attacking formation. As the second half got under way, Tavistock started to play better and with Doney and Ludwig playing out on the wings, the ball was now getting passed into the ?D? for the forwards to attack the the opposition?s goal. Although the second half was better for Tavistock the goal deficit was too much, however Young did manage to score his second goal from another short corner. As the season draws to a close and only one win this season the ?B? team have struggled in this League, and with an away match this Saturday at Truro they hope to double their win tally.
