NINE-year-old Tyler Tomes from Bere Alston is preparing for his marathon distance charity bike ride next weekend.

Tyler spent the day at Morrisons’ supermarket on Saturday and collected £150 for his 30-mile charity ride, raising the funds for the Meadows Makeover and the cancer charity Bloodwise.

He sets off from Plymouth next Saturday morning taking in a lap of Burrator Reservoir on his way to Tavistock meadows for a party reception between 1pm and 2pm. Readers can support Tyler by going to www.justgiving.com/ GOTT-TylerTomes
