DEVON Active Villages has reached the finals of this year's National Lottery Awards and with the help of your readers it could win a £2,000 cash prize.

Voting closes on midnight on Wednesday, July 24 and with one last push Devon Active Villages could be among the winners at a star-studded awards ceremony due to be broadcast on BBC 1 in September.

Devon Active Villages works with small communities across Devon to give people living in rural areas the chance to take part in sport where they live. By providing specialist support, supplying equipment and training local volunteers the project ensures that activities can carry on long into the future. The local project is up against six other finalists in the Best Sport Project category.  

The National Lottery Awards celebrate and recognise the inspirational and life-changing impact of National Lottery funded projects across all sections of society.  Each week National Lottery players raise more than £35-million for arts, sport, heritage and voluntary projects across the UK.
