THE 26 members of the Okehampton Art Group will be exhibiting their work this year on Friday, August 10, and Saturday, August 11, in the Church Hall on Market Street. This year, due to the acquisition of new exhibition stands, the group will be able to display a wider variety of work, which will be enhanced with excellent lighting. Chairperson Gillian Lower recommended that anyone with an interest in art should drop in to the free exhibition, ?Come along, enjoy the atmosphere, the music and the refreshments, as well as the art,? she said. The exhibition will include work in oils, watercolours, pastels and acrylics, in a wide variety of styles. Cat lovers, in particular, will be in for a treat, and the range of work for sale will include cards and prints as well as framed pictures and mounted paintings. Group members will be available to talk about their work with interested members of the public on both days of the exhibition.
