MOUNT House schoolgirls Emma Jackman and Lucy Walliker both took their first wickets for Devon Girls U13s as they helped the team progress to the quarter finals of the national U13s competition.

They defeated Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Cornwall and Dorset, before being beaten by champions Yorkshire. Lucy, who plays her club cricket for Ivybridge, took her first wicket against Warwickshire as Devon took on Warks, Berkshire and Kent girls at the Malvern Cricket festival.

Emma,  who first played for the Whitchurch ladies team last summer under the guidance of coach Steve Hodge,  opened her account for Devon in the West division match against Gloucestershire with figures of 4-2-6-2. Both girls represented West Devon Girls U15s this season.
