Churston Golf Club was host to the EWGA South West Championships this year. 43 ladies from five counties competed to qualify in a 36 hole medal competition.

Yelverton GC's Gilly Jarvis qualified in eighth place in the plate competition.

Gilly beat Jan Harrison of Launceston, 5-4 then won  with a birdie putt on the 19th hole against Kerry Hurd from Churston.

The next day in the semi-final Gilly beat Alexandra Saunders of Gloucestershire with another birdie putt on the 18th. The afternoon finals match was another closely fought match. However, Gilly finally lost 3/2 to Lucy Palder from Gloucester.
