YOUNG footballers and hockey players in Okehampton and the surrounding area will each benefit from £500 raised at two Christmas lunches.
The money has been raised thanks to the generosity of Mr and Mrs Simon Essex who gave two Christmas lunches at Ashbury Golf Club for elderly and disabled people.
The cheerfulness and helpfulness of the staff ensured that everyone enjoyed the occasion, which was organised by Mrs Daisy Passmore.
The two events raised a total of £1,000 which is being shared between Okehampton Argyle?s youth section and the Columbine Hockey Club.
