THE Phoenix Youth Theatre are putting on their next production, 'Deception in a Haunted House', in Bridestowe Village Hall on July 1 and 2.

The play is set in the castle of the fourteenth Duke of Argyll, with the Duke having frittered away the family fortune through his alcoholism and gambling problems.

In order to survive, the Duchess reluctantly opens the castle to the public.

Basil, their son and heir, hosts ghost spotting weekends to attract visitors, hiring actors to impersonate ghouls and frighten the visitors.

Everything is going to plan, until a real poltergeist arrives to disrupt the peace.

The show starts at 8pm both nights.
