THE Tamar Valley Centre is playing host to three jewellery making workshops over the coming months, offering a creative start to the year.
This month's class 'Mastering Beading Techniques', on Saturday January 28, will explore the different methods of threading beads, from classic pearl knotting to simple seed bead stitches.
There will be a variety of projects to choose from and participants will design and complete at least one piece of jewellery. The class will run from 10.30am to 4pm.
'The Art of Wire Work' on Saturday February 25 will explore the use of wire in jewellery making, learning how to use different tools to shape and form wire.
Participants can create basic wrapped loops or make their own chain and clasps.
There will be the chance to complete a bracelet, earrings or a ring. The workshop will run from 10.30am to 4pm.
In March, 'Exploring Finishing and Findings' will provide participants with key skills needed to make all types of jewellery, focussing on which finishings and findings are needed to give jewellery a professional touch.
The course will be on Saturday, March 31 from 10.30am to 4pm.
Each workshop costs £45 per person, to include all materials, tools and refreshments. Please bring lunch.
