THE 2009 Hatherleigh Fun Run will be open to everyone when it takes place next month.

Races will be split by gender and age. The under fives and five to seven-year-olds will run approximately three-quarters-of-a mile and the eight to ten year olds will run one-and-a-half miles.

The eleven to 14 year-olds will run three miles and the over 15s will run four miles.

Medals will be awarded to winners and runners up in each class at the finish line in the square, where there will also be a barbecue.

The routes will be the same as previous years, with a map at the start and marshals available throughout.

There will be a small entrance fee to pay for the medals and certificates.

The event, which will be held on Friday, September 4, is being run by the playpark committee.

Registration will take place in the market from 6pm and the first race will start at 6.30pm from the market.
