OKEHAMPTON Community Recreation Association (OCRA) is calling all sporting and activity clubs, individuals and groups to take part in Okehampton Sports and Fitness Festival 2011.
There is an exciting programme of more than 35 different sports and recreational activities for children, young people and adults.
Running from July 2 - July 10 it is an opportunity for people and clubs from the area to promote what they do .
OCRA, the festival organisers, are keen before finalising the programme to hear from anymore offers of have a go sessions, challenges or competitions.
Stuart Lord, OCRA's activity development manager, said: The programme for this year is looking really diverse and exciting.
'On the competition front you can download team entry forms for the adult rounders and also the adult football to which we have added a men's veterans competition this year to the popular men's and women's ones.
'People can train for a number of events with Okehampton Running Club hosting two races in the week including the Moor than 10k that will start in Okehampton's Simmons Park on July 10 — the route incorporates multiply terrain types including tarmac, gravel tracks and grass footpaths and offering some of the most scenic views found in Devon.
'There is a fantastic 10 mile cycle time trial, golf, skate and bike competition and a squash handicap open confirmed.
'We are looking at a festival that allows people to try new things and enjoy doing things with friends and families, events are open to anyone.'
