A WEST Devon computer repair and training organisation is expressing thanks to a generous neighbour after suffering a burglary earlier this year.
The not-for-profit organisation Tavistock Recycled Computers and Training Ltd had a break-in at its shop in the Pannier Market surround and has since not recovered the losses sustained.
The nearby shoe shop Georgi M was also broken into and is now closing down.
Janet Mashford, director and trainer at Tavistock Recycled Computers and Training Ltd, said: 'During her closing down sale Wendy, the proprietor, made a collection for our project.
'Wendy raised £70 and she is still collecting so we do not have a final figure but we would like to express our thanks to Wendy and her customers.'
The shop is currently offering a 'New for Old' deal.
The shop needs a supply of older laptops to serve customers who cannot afford to buy a new laptop.
The shop will give a free valuation on any laptop with a view to trading it in and buying one of the shop's new laptops.
Janet said: 'People are not aware that we sell new or that the transition is made painless when we transfer their data over for free. We then give continuing support while they get to grips with their new laptop.'
