I can whinge with the best of them and was moved to Force Ten fury (on the Meldrew Scale) when I returned to my car in the Brook Street car park to find a fixed penalty wallet stuck to my driver's side door.
After all, I had a good hour's unexpired parking time in plain sight on a prominently placed ticket.
Cursing, I extracted the contents of the wallet — which proved to be a handwritten note.
It said: 'Found your keys in the door, they are with Somerfield managers, (signed) WDBC Parking Superintendent'.
Sheepishly I reclaimed my keys, and left murmuring a blessing on the author of the note.
You get more than just a space for your money when you park your car in West Devon!
