YOUNG visitors to Tavistock Library's After School Club will be benefiting from extra help thanks to a grant from Devon County Council.

The twice weekly study support group is well attended by both local primary and secondary school pupils who have no access to a computer at home.

And thanks to this funding, a member of library staff will continue to be available to help the youngsters with their projects and homework.

County and district councillor for Tavistock, Roy Connelly, chose to support the group with money from the council's West Devon county committee budget.

He said: 'I'm delighted that the study support will be able to continue at the library.

'I have visited the after school group and saw first-hand what an excellent resource it is and how useful the young people found it.'

Devon County Council has eight county committees which, through their members, support local projects or services that contribute to the local community.
