YOUNGSTERS still buzzing from the excitement of the London Olympics can enjoy a fun programme of sport and activities throughout the half-term week led by OCRA.
On Monday, October 29, children in South Zeal can enjoy two hours of free sport, art and play sessions at the village's recreation ground, while Meldon Village Hall will also host two hours of free sport and art on the same day.
The South Zeal event runs from 10am to noon, while Meldon Village Hall will host sport from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Children aged six to 14 are welcome, and there is no need to book ahead.
On Tuesday, October 30 and Thursday, November 1, OCRA is holding sport and art days for six to 14 year olds, where youngsters can enjoy a mixture of sport and art and craft activities. Potential sports include football, tennis, basketball, and on the Thursday there will be opportunities to go swimming during the afternoon session. The sessions run on both days from 10am to 3pm, with the first child of the family costing £9.50 and each additional child costing £7.50. Children will need to bring appropriate indoor and outdoor clothing, a packed lunch and drinks.
Wednesday, October 31 promises a busy day of sport, with a tag rugby camp, trampolining camp and horse riding on Dartmoor all available.
The tag rugby camp welcomes girls and boys aged six to 12, and will have skill games, matches and promises hours of fun from 10am to 1pm. The trampolining camp from 10am to 1pm will give youngsters aged eight to 16 the chance to try trampolining and either develop new skills or build on their existing ability. Each session costs £8 per child.
The horse riding across Dartmoor is for youngsters aged ten to 18. Meeting at Eastlake Stables at 2pm, youngsters will ride across the moor for an hour stable, and help put their horse in their, untack and brush them down. Warm outdoor clothing is essential.

l Adults inspired by the London Olympics to try a new sport can now enrol in two exciting new sports clubs in Okehampton.
A weekly fencing club at Parklands Leisure Centre starts on Tuesday, November 6, welcoming fencers of all abilities. Equipment is provided and there will be specialist coaching from members of North Tamar Fencing Club. The first session starts at 5.30pm, running for one hour and costing £4 per week.
Those who prefer team sports can try their hand at volleyball with a new club on Fridays. The exciting and fast moving game is great fun to play, and friends and work colleagues can join members, as players of all abilities are welcome. The club starts at Parklands on Friday, November 8 at 8pm for one hour, costing £3.50 per week.
Alternatively people can enrol for Monday night badminton at Parklands, or trampolining, dancercise and pilates clubs running at Okehampton College Gym.
