A FAMILY fun day is being held at Black Torrington this weekend to raise funds for a local cancer sufferer who is travelling to China for treatment. Pensioner Ingrid Munro from Hatherleigh, who suffers from bowel cancer, is undergoing a revolutionary cancer treatment in China and a fund has been set up to pay for the trip and treatment by her friends, Maxine and Colin Adams. The couple have been holding garage sales and car boot sales and a recent collection outside Waitrose raised £93. This Saturday (May 26) there will be a fun day at the Torridge Inn for the Ingrid Munro Cancer Appeal starting at noon and finishing at 4.30pm. There will be live music, a barbecue and a raffle. Prizes at the raffle will include a signed Ronnie Wood photo with a collectable T-shirt from the 2005/2006 USA and Canada tour, a flat screen TV/DVD and a sculpture by Dartmoor artist Jean Buchanon.
