Carlsberg South Western League Callington Town 2 Plymouth Parkway 5 CALLINGTON were left fuming with the officials after this controversial victory for their visitors. Their frustration was at two incidents when punches appeared to have been thrown by opposition players which were not punished properly by the referee, a soft penalty being awarded to the visitors in the last minute, and the feeling that decisions in important places seemed to go for the opposition. Darren Lawton gave the visitors the lead after two Town defenders collided trying to clear the ball after just 10 minutes. Five minutes later Wayne Hilson made it 2-0 for Parkway with a fine finish and on 35 minutes Marcus Crocker made it three with another cool finish. Callington did not give up and were awarded a penalty on 43 minutes after Charlie Blair was crudely upended in the box. Pete Floyd?s spot kick was saved by the Parkway keeper but he made amends shortly afterwards and struck the ball into the far corner of the goal. Callington set about their opponents after the break and Adam Reid headed home to make the score 3-2. Town were now in full swing but their stride was interrupted by a foul on Blair in which most in the ground saw a fist flying from the Parkway defender. Both the referee and linesman said they could not see the incident, in spite of giving Callington a free kick, and when the move broke down, Parkway attacked and Crocker restored the visitors? two goal advantage. Late on, the referee intervened again giving a penalty to the opposition that no one could quite believe and Crocker gleefully struck away the spot kick for his hat trick to leave the home side frustrated by the decisions and also their missed chances.
