FROM hardened criminal to ordained minister . . . Davey Falcus was a notorious gangster coming from a background of organised crime, drugs and violence, running pubs and clubs in Newcastle- upon-Tyne. Heavily involved in the 'Geordie Mafia', his fearsome reputation earned him the nickname 'The Beast of the North-East' — yet Davey became a born-again Christian in 1995 after a face-to-face encounter with Jesus Christ. Davey says Jesus instantly released him from a 15- year drug habit and a 20-year alcohol problem, which has since totally changed his life! Davey is now an ordained minister who leads Ashington Family Church as well as travelling internationally. He said God has accompanied his ministry with many signs, wonders, miracles, with a very powerful healing and deliverance edge to it. Davey regularly preaches and teaches at conferences, crusades, seminaries, stadiums, and on radio and TV all over the world. In recent years years he has preached in Guatemala, Sweden, USA, Mexico, Greece, Uganda, Holland, Kenya and Sri Lanka to name but a few. Davey's story was featured on the BBC's 'Songs of Praise' in 2006. His book 'Gangland to God' has just been released.
