FIRE crews were called to extinguish a fire that had started in a chimney in Tavistock in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A crew from Tavistock found a fire in the chimney of an open fire at the property in Glanville Road just after 2.30am. They used chimney gear and a thermal imaging camera to try to get the blaze under control. A second crew from Tavistock was called, as it turned out to be a difficult chimney fire to extinguish and more manpower was needed.
The crews managed to put out the fire by 6.30am.
