POPULAR Okehampton band Fosta will rock Plymouth Hoe this Sunday (January 30) as one of the live acts taking the stage for a tsunami relief charity concert. Fosta are just one of a host of bands playing the Plymouth Aid Day concert which runs from 1pm to 9pm on Plymouth Hoe. Fosta are due to be the second band on, with the three-piece taking to the stage at 2pm. The concert is being headlined by soul band Joey the Lips. Money raised from the event will go towards the Rotary Clubs of the South West?s drive to send Shelterboxes to areas badly hit by the disaster. Fosta also provide support to award-winning drum and bass outfit Obedientbone at a concert in the Charter Hall, Okehampton tomorrow night (Friday). Fosta are made up of Jim Hanington on guitar and vocals, Ricky Drew on bass guitar and drummer Martyn Campbell. The group met at Okehampton College and formed two years ago. lOkehampton pop/rock band ?Choppy? are reuniting to play a tsunami benefit gig on Saturday, January 29 not tomorrow as previously reported. Choppy comprise Martin Brint (vocals, guitar); Jon Mansell (bass) and Franco De Tisi (drums) and began playing locally in 1998. The gig is at the hayloft, the King?s Arms, Okehampton, on Saturday, January 29. Doors open at 7.30pm.
