A TALK about two giants of the early English folksong movement will take place at St Peter?s Church in Lewtrenchard next Tuesday (October 24.) The story of the Rev Sabine Baring-Gould and Cecil Sharp will be told by acknowledged national expert Martin Graebe , starting at 7pm. The talk will include references to Sharp?s visit to Baring-Gould at Lewtrenchard and their subsequent projects, including the definitive ?English Folk Songs for Schools.? The Baring-Gould Festival, which centres on Lewtrenchard where Baring-Gould was parish minister, runs from October 27 to 29 and has more than 25 events, including concerts, morris dancing and workshops.
