A FIVE-nil win for West Devon A over Con C was enough to leap frog them over Con A and Tavy A to the top spot.

Taking on Con C firmly rooted to bottom spot, this result came as no major surprise. There were regulation wins for Hawke, Hurford, Rich and Emptage to take WD four up but the final frame was not a breeze. West Devon's Heathman was made to fight all the way as Toby Jago gave him a run for his money. In the end Heathman's prowess was enough to see him over the line and give his team a two point cushion at the top of the league.

Second from bottom of the league West Devon C gave visitors Con Z a run for their money before finally having to settle for second best. Con's Jankowski continued his rich vein of form wresting a black ball frame from the grip of Williams while team mate Dodd powered his way past Decieco to put the Con's two up. Dave Elliott proved that age is no barrier to pull one back for WD with a superb performance over previously unbeaten Fitzsimmons.

Shrimpton tried his best to keep West Devon in the game but ultimately fell to Ronnie O McKechnie in a bruiser of a frame. Pete Rich made it two for West Devon over Symons but it was too little too late as the Cons ran out 3 – 2 winners.
