A NEWLY formed theatre company held its first ever production last week to three sold out performances. Meavy Amateur Dramatics (MAD), formed to raise money for Meavy Parish Hall, performed its production of Cinderella in the hall after a 30 year absence by a village drama group on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The pantomime of ten scenes and two acts by Philip Reeve, with additions by members of MAD, was directed by Graham Dimmock and produced by Jools Boston. Jools, chief MAD member, said: 'We are delighted that our first production has completely sold out for all the performances, proving that you want to see amateur dramatics once again in the parish hall. 'We plan to put on a comedy in the summer followed by another pantomime next winter.' If you want to be a MAD member, whether acting or taking a behind the scenes role, contact Jools on 01822 855693.
