WEST DEVON planners will pay a site visit to Mill Road this month to decide whether to demolish the public conveniences in the car park.
The borough council's planning committee decided to hold the site visit to the building, which was closed last year due to budget cuts.
The Mill Road toilets were one of three public conveniences proposed for closure in the borough last year, as West Devon Borough Council strived to make savings.
Town and parish councils were also asked to contribute towards keeping other public toilets open.
The decision was taken to close them, with new toilets in the area when the old mill site is redeveloped in 18 months' time.
Cllr Bill Cann said: 'It is very important to go and see what is there now, see how the site is laid out and see what Okehampton has planned for the future in this area.'
The committee will make a decision on the future of the toilet building in September, following the site visit.
