Following their win at Wellington, Mount House First XV travelled to Sherborne Prep and recorded another fine victory this time by 59 points to nil. Two tries early in the game ended it as a contest, and the team concentrated on better lines of running, support either side of the ball carrier, and keeping a clean sheet defensively. The half-time score of 40-0 reflected Mount House?s domination of all aspects of the game. Alex Zervudachi completed a first-half hat-trick of tries, while Rhys Davies, Freddie Jayarajah and Harry Sharp also crossed the line. Three tries were added in a short second half through Davies, Michael Cousens and Tristan Searight. In all Davies converted seven of the team?s nine tries for a resounding 59-0 win. The Second XV also put on a dominating display. The cohesion between pack and backs was a feature of their play, giving the half backs Edmund Fulford and George Lundy the opportunity to run the ball. Lundy scored twice himself and created scoring opportunities for Tom Sylvester, Harry McKelvey and Henry Wells. The other try scorers were Fed Cave (2) and Michal Choroszewski. Lundy and Fulford kicked a conversion each. The Mount House Colts had a much closer game, with good forward play in the early stages taking them into a 19-7 lead. Sherborne came back strongly with two late tries to pull back to 19-19. l MOUNT House U9s enjoyed an excellent Stover Rugby Festival ? played in the right spirit in sunny conditions. Their first match was against a well-organised Blundells, who proved too strong and ran out winners by two tries to nil. The team picked itself up, and won the next two games, against St Michael?s and Trinity, both by three tries to nil. Further confident victories over Plymouth College and the hosts, Stover rounded off a successful afternoon. Try-scorers for Mount House were Ralph Lopes (5), Wilf Hadow (3) and Jacob David-Ward, and outstanding contributions came from Lopes, Hadow and Barry Traneer.
