MEMBERS of Tavistock Young Farmers Club have been brushing up on their emergency first aid skills, including resuscitation.
Fourteen members of the club have already learned first aid skills under the watchful eye of trainer Clive Kidman.
First aid is just one of the range of skill areas in which short courses are being offered.
Project partners Duchy and Bicton Colleges, are helping with the delivery and assessment of courses.
The training is part of the Skills for Life Project, launched in March across Devon and Cornwall.
A number of short courses have already been held, providing trainees with the knowledge they need to develop skills for work, study and leisure.
Skills for Life is particularly keen to improve access to training for people in rural areas. The project is based on a national scheme run through the Young Farmers' Clubs.
