FIRE crews in West Devon will be taking up sponges and buckets for their annual car wash in aid of the national firefighters' charity this Saturday.

In Bere Alston the event will take place in the forecourt of the fire station from 10am to 4pm, with sponges and shampoo being donated by Eastwood Garage in Bere Ferrers.

The Wharf car park will be the venue for the Tavistock car cleaning event, which also starts at 10am.

In Princetown there will also be a car wash at the same time.

Yelverton fire crew held their car wash last Saturday and raised £150 for the charity.
