FIRE crews from Tavistock and Yelverton were called to an address in Horrabridge at lunchtime on Sunday, to deal with a kitchen fire.
Tavistock Station Officer Tony Clark said the blaze was caused by a chip pan and warned householders against leaving chip pans unattended. ?Fortunately, nobody was hurt but it could have been far worse,? said Mr Clark.
Since Sunday, officers from the Tavistock crews have been on duty in Plymouth, teaching youngsters about fire safety awareness during a junior life skills event at the city?s fire safety centre.
