Mannamead Seconds 1

Tavistock 1

MANNAMEAD hockey team worked the ball up quickly putting the Tavistock on constant alert.

Numerous short corners were given to the opposition but Susannah Harland and Fiona Dunn cleared the ball quickly and efficiently.

One Tavistock midfield player, Becky Hutton, suffered an injury in the first half of the match, which resulted in the side having to play much more defensively.

A good team talk from captain, Fiona Dunn, resulted in Tavistock taking the lead in the second half. Judy Smallacombe dribbled past numerous players enabling her to play a good ball to Sue Gawman who put it past the goalkeeper.

Tavistock picked up their game and the skill level improved with Sue Hornby and Amanda Bridgewater making some timely tackles.

Unfortunately, Mannamead levelled. Goalkeeper, Rebecca Creasey, did exceptionally well to prevent any other goals from being scored.

Tavistock are home at Marjons this Saturday, playing Dartmouth with a 12.30pm push back.
