MANY spectators watched the mayhem unfold as participants got caked in mud for this year's Bere Ferrers Watersports Day.
Five teams took part in the various games held in the murky mud of the River Tavy, and ended up being covered from head to toe. However, some mud did get washed off in a new, brutal game in which each team member had to cross the mud hanging from a rope, while the other teams tried to throw them off using a powerful hose which sucked up the river water.
The team Saggy Nuts were crowned as winners at the end of the games.
Those who were keeping safe and dry by watching the event enjoyed a barbecue, hog roast and bar.
The crabbing competition got underway as soon as the tide came in, with lots of children dangling bits of bacon into the river in an attempt to make a catch.
In the evening, participants and spectators enjoyed live music from Cowboy Ian, the Tavy Tars, Blaxton, Rockin' Ron, Georgina and Scotty and Friends.
