Tavistock Tigers 3 Dartmouth 1 FOR the second time in a week a much changed Tigers faced a side who had also shuffled their pack. Both hockey teams begun brightly as Ludwig and Evans put some slick passing moves together along the flanks. Dartmouth were most dangerous through a number of early short corners, well defended by Butler and Costello. Tavistock took the lead when a one-two passing move between Evans and Armstrong allowed Armstrong to break free and with just the keeper to beat she calmly slotted the ball home. The lead was only with Tavistock for five minutes as Dartmouth were awarded a free hit just outside the D. Their centre forward left his marker to tap the ball past a helpless Osborne in goal. It looked set to be a draw at half-time but Tavistock took the lead on the whistle. A fantastic passing move, starting with Edwards, allowed Firth to cross to the top of the D to allow Doney to seal a fine team goal. The second half saw a great end to end game as Tavistock looked to increase their lead while Dartmouth searched for an equaliser, both sides had chances, with Miller and Armstrong each going close. With moments to spare the Dartmouth centre forward squandered their best chance while under pressure from George. Tavistock immediately went up the other end and, following a great pass from Ali, Firth crossed to Miller who converted the third goal.
