A FARMERS’ co-operative selling local organic food in Okehampton is hosting a film and a photography exhibition this autumn shedding light on the tough livelihood of small farmers.

Photography of life on small farms across the country by Walter Lewis will be on display in an exhibition Unlikely Heroes throughout October and November at the Harvest Farm Shop in Red Lion Yard.

Walter will give a talk on his work, and introduce his accompanying book, on Thursday, October 5 at 7.30pm in the shop. Alongside this, there will be a screening of In Our Hands, at the Ockment Centre on Friday, October 20 at 7.30pm.

It explores the current difficulties within farming from the perspective of small-scale farmers.
