The October medal competition on the third of the month was combined with the Murray Rose Bowl Competition - open to players with a handicap between 21 and 36.

The ladies have been busy playing in late summer competitions. On September 22 they played in the Dartmoor Trophy, a mixed competition held annually and open to golf clubs on the west and southern side of Dartmoor. It was held at Okehampton, and the home team won the trophy. Yelverton came third.
On September 23 the ladies played in the closed course competition in which each team?s individual stableford points are totalled.
This was started last year between Yelverton, Tavistock and Royal North Devon, all courses which were closed last year because of the foot and mouth crisis. This time the match was held at RND, and the home club won the trophy with 308 points. Yelverton were runners-up with 283 points.
On October 2 the ladies? vets, captained by June Smalley, played their fourth and final friendly match of the season at Launceston against the Dunheved ladies. Earlier this year the Yelverton team won at home 3-1, but lost this return match at Launceston 3-2 - an excellent, friendly competition.
Anne Ashley has won the King Phillips Challenge Cup, which is a match play knockout competition played during the summer.
