ORGANISERS of this year's Tavistock Food Festival have announced they will hold a raffle to raise funds for their two chosen charities.
The raffle tickets will be on sale both days of the festival to all visitors and exhibitors, with the proceeds being shared equally to the Childrens' Hospice South West and Help for Heroes.
Festival chairman Jeffrey Stackhouse said: 'We have already received raffle prizes from St Austell Brewery, Towls of Tavistock, Roddas, Warm Welcome Hotels, Duke's Coffee Shop, Boyces of Manstree, Morwellham Quay, and the Red Rock Brewery. We are very grateful for their generosity.'
Morwellham Quay are offering all visitors a special deal over the festival weekend.
Anyone buying their 'day passport' will get free all-day car parking, free adult entry to the food festival, and free access to the riverside train ride, the underground tour of the George and Charlotte copper mine as well as a varied daily programme of guided tours, talks and demonstrations.
Tavistock residents are reminded that they can let the 'bus take the strain' by using the free bus service which runs on the hour from Bedford Square to Morwellham Quay on both days.
