CAKES for the birds as well as the public were on sale at Calstock Primary School Summer Fair to raise funds for the school wildlife garden and the RSPB. The Young Explorers (ecology club) wanted to raise funds to make improvements to their wildlife garden, known as Environmania and also to support the RSPB 'I'm on the sea's side' campaign to protect the marine environment.

With the help of their classmates and support of their families and school staff they held a successful afternoon.  As well as plants, toys and books, raffle and refreshments they invented some interesting themed sideshows such as Find the Seahorse, magnetic fishing and a seashore art competition.

Enough money has been raised to put more bird tables, nesting boxes and water butts in Enviromania as well as making a substantial contribution to the RSPB.
