ARCHIVED footage from Tavistock and district's past will be shown in the town hall on Friday, October 10.

The film clips being shown are from the Westcountry Film and Television Archive and it is a  different programme from the last occasion.

This time it will include preparations for the Coronation, the Bedford Hotel fire, demolition of Grenofen Viaduct, angry mothers protesting at the closure of the maternity unit, and Albert Knott being blown up one day before retiring from Wilminstone Quarry.

Other topics include fairs and carnivals, local golfing, Tavistock Canal, Walreddon Manor, and a compendium of the local railway scenes.

Once again the evening is about supporting the film archive, raising funds for Tavistock Museum, and enjoying memories of Tavistock.

Tickets are now on sale from Tavistock Museum priced at £4 per adult and £2 for young people.

Tickets subject to availability on the night but previous ticket purchase is advised.

The event is being staged from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, with a short intermission.
