I HAVE read with interest and some surprise the letters from objectors to the Winbeg Project at Winkleigh regarding the transporting of fuel to the site of the proposed power station. Whilst I have only passing interest in the Winbeg Project, I feel some facts on transport would be useful. I am a forage merchant delivering straw throughout the West Country. I carry straw bales to and from farms in Devon and neighbouring counties on a regular basis, also my vehicles are of a similar size to the ones Peninsula Power are proposing to use. My load of 64 mini Heston bales or 55 Claas quadrant bales of straw on a 45ft articulated flatbed truck, results in a load of over 17 tonnes. Based on this factual information it is obvious that the objectors? transport advisors are incorrect. John Dorse Pitt Farm Uffculme Cullompton
