HATHERLEIGH Pre School group is the latest cause to benefit from the EX20 lottery set up for the Okehampton area this summer.
The group has been awarded £160 to swell its funds. It is the fifth organisation to benefit from the local lottery — the others being Okehampton Scouts, South Zeal Scouts, Okehampton Army Cadets and Devon Air Ambulance.
Total prize money allocated to people participating in the lottery stands at £2,457.78.
Christine Marsh, mayor of Okehampton and the driving force behind the lottery, said: 'I would like to thank all those people who have subscribed — but there are also those out there who keep on thinking "I'll get round to it sometime" — we do need you.'
Cllr Marsh stressed the fact that groups all over the EX20 area could be considered as a beneficiary for donations.
'It's not just an Okehampton lottery,' she said.
The tickets are available from Okehampton Newsagents, The White Hart, North Tawton Stores, Bridestowe Post Office, the pet shop in Okehampton and Meeth Post Office.
l The lucky winner of this week's EX20 lottery draw is D Carter of Sticklepath who will receive the first prize of £80.60.
Second prize winner is Mrs N Price of Okehampton who wins £40.30, third prize of £10.08 goes to Mr W Isaac of Northlew and Mrs Rendle of Okehampton wins the fourth prize of £10.08.
The next draws will take place on December 18 (bonus draw), December 19 and 29, January 5 and January 9.
