WHITCHURCH Wafarers hosted the annual schools crickets festivals.
Bere Alston, St Andrews at Buckland Monachorum, St Peters, Tavistock and Whitchurch took part in the large schools event, with the final being between Whitchurch and St Andrews. Whitchurch emerged as the winners.
The following day there was a disappointing turnout for the small schools festival with only Milton Abbot, Mary Tavy and Princetown taking part. This, however, did not deter the young people from enjoying their cricket with Milton Abbot taking the rewards.
Thanks go to Whitchurch Wayfarers for their hospitality, especially club chairman Neil Tamblin who officiated on both days. Whitchurch runs three Colts teams – U11s, U13s and U15s.
