TAVVY Specials played their first games in the Ability Counts league and the team looked extremely smart in the TCFS kit, in AC Milan colours.
There was some great football and lots of laughter as 30 teams of disabled footballers took part in the event at Northan, near Bude.
Tavvy are in league two — having won four, drew two and lost one. Andy Trigger, who works for TCFC sponsors Abbey Garden Machinery, scored a cracker, belting it into the roof of the net. His goal celebration saw this man, who is severely disabled on his left, run the full length of the pitch to hug the coach and then fall over laughing!
The event was well run and a credit to the organisers at Bideford and Appledore FC.
Will and Tom Reed, the TCFC coaches were a credit as usual and both said that football everywhere should be this fun!
The Ability Counts leagues are coming to Tavistock on the Crowndale pitches on Sunday November 21 when it hosts this event for the Devon FA.
* TCFC Specials want to form a ladies team now so please contact Alan Lewis on 077497 98808 or 01822 614335 if you are interested. The team will also be welcoming Deaf players to the squad as the coaches are doing signing courses.
