Tavistock 1sts VI v Shobrooke Park
TAVISTOCK lost the toss and were put into bat and lost early wickets. Gray, Kaitiff and Goodchild all fell cheaply which brought Luffman and Manning together at 35-3. They steadied well with a partnership of 63 until Luffman fell on 29. In walked the 6ft 9in giant figure of Hendricks , who was soon on the attack with an array of 4s and 6s. Hendricks and Manning put on 56, when Manning fell for 53, Hendricks soon lost partners after and was left on 71 from 55 balls when the innings closed on 212-8.
Tavistock bowled well, even with the umpires getting tight on wides with the exception of Cleave who was chucking pies at the opposing batsmen.
Hendricks was superb taking two wickets on his debut, backed up well with Gauler taking two and Baker taking one restricting Shobrooke Park to 162-5 resulting in Tavistock gaining a winning draw.
Tavistock 2nd XI v Chudleigh
TAVISTOCK won the toss and put Chudleigh into bat. Downham and James McGahey immediately put Chudleigh under pressure on a lively wicket with both openers gone with the score on 35-2. Chudleigh fought back with Perry (62) and Argyle (32) but with great bowling from Mills and Jamie Stephens they were restricted to 165-6.
Tavistock started well with Mark Webber putting away bad balls with ease. Gliddon was out for six, captain John McGahey backed up Webber well until the frustrated McGahey middled a full toss straight to mid-wicket.
Wickets fell cheaply with Excell, Josh Stephens and Chidzoy all falling from excellent faster balls from Vittles. Downham came to the crease with a quick 27 and he and Webber guided Tavistock home with Webber finishing 92 not out winning the game for Tavistock by four wickets.
