SKILLED craftspeople can be seen at Buckland Abbey this month at the property?s quilting and embroidery exhibition and Country Days weekend.
The second exhibition of West Country talent will showcase embroidery and quilting from members and groups such as the Westcountry Quilters, South West Quilters and the Embroiders? Guild from Tavistock.
The theme of this year?s exhibition is The Elizabethan Age, Ancient and Modern, and exhibits will be on display throughout the historic abbey.
Included in the event will be displays of samplers, puppets and embroidered figures. Replica Elizabethen costumes for use in the abbey?s education programme will be on show, plus work made by schools in Devon and Cornwall.
Trade stands covering all aspects of needlework will be at the exhibition which runs from September 19 to 24.
On the weekend of September 20/21 a wide variety of people will be at the abbey to demonstrate and share traditional rural skills at the return of the Country Days.
