MEMBERS of St Eustachius' Church will be holding the popular Christmas Bazaar in Tavistock Town Hall on Saturday, November 15.

The event, now in its 44th year, will be opened at 10.30am by the Tavistock mayor Cllr Harry Smith, accompanied by his wife, Mary.

The event, started in 1970 by Ruby Ditcher and helpers from the church, remains a firm favourite in the town and has helped provide much needed funds for the maintenance of the church.

Mr and Mrs Ditcher are still stalwarts in helping at the Bazaar as well as many other members who were supporting the first event 44 years ago.

Father Christmas' elves will be present to receive letters from the children for Father Christmas.

There will be the usual array of stalls, a grand raffle and the usual 'Vicar's Whisky Raffle'.

Refreshments will be served all day.

Anyone who remembers the first Christmas Bazaar are invited to attend to share their memories.
