AN EAST Cornwall aspiring author has just released her debut novel 'The First Wife'.

Eileen Hale, 68, from Gunnislake, has uploaded her novel about a relationship turned sour onto Amazon Kindle.

The novel tells the story of a marriage breakdown. It takes an affair for Becky to realise the state of her 20-year marriage to Harry, the state of her life and gives her the strength to do something about it. Harry, in an attempt to recreate what he once had with Becky, marries Mia — but Mia is no Becky.

Grace, their daughter, blames her mother as in her eyes her father can do no wrong. Their story takes them from London, to Devon and finally to Cyprus.

Eileen believes this is a story many women will relate to, and their nearest and dearest may be able to learn from.

She said: 'I suppose my inspiration for the book must have come from being married twice and divorced twice, therefore having experienced being "The First Wife". Although I must add, my book is purely fictional.

'I have done may creative writing courses over the years and had articles printed but always wanted to write a novel.'

Eileen, originally from London, moved to Hampshire with her two children, then onto Exeter and ten years ago she bought a mobile home in Gunnislake and said she couldn't be happier. she has two grown up children and two grandchildren.

'The First Wife' is only available on Amazon Kindle as Eileen said she, like many aspiring authors, has had difficulty trying to find an agent.
